Product details
An upright moves air only where its ducting tells the air to go, and on SEBO's AUTOMATIC X machines 5380GS is the panel doing the telling. It is the internal cover, gray black, listed as one assembled item. The AUTOMATIC X4/X5 drawing carries it at item 26, together with items 40 and 41.
Item 40 in that group is the seal between this cover and the bag housing, which has a listing of its own as 5842, and that detail explains why the panel matters more than a plain moulding should. It is not simply closing an opening. It forms one wall of a sealed route that runs from the nozzle, through the bag, and on to the filters. Crack the moulding, or snap one of the locating tabs, and the route leaks. Air reaches the fan having skipped past the filtration, so grit turns up in parts of the machine that should never see it, while pull at the floor head falls off with no blockage anywhere to account for the loss.
Panels of this type are broken during servicing far more often than in ordinary use, since the tabs carry the load every time a machine is opened and closed. Look them over, along with the face the seal beds onto, whenever an AUTOMATIC X has been apart for any reason.
