Product details
Power that cuts to the brush the moment the handle is swung to one side is nearly always a contact problem in the swivel neck rather than a motor fault. Part 5176UL is the male contact holder that lives in that joint, listed at position 105 on SEBO's AUTOMATIC X4/X5 exploded diagram.
The holder carries no electronics of its own. It is a molding whose only task is to position the male contacts so they meet their mating half squarely every time the neck rotates, through the full arc the handle travels. Once the plastic cracks, or the retaining lugs wear, the pins are no longer held in line: the connection makes and breaks as the machine is steered, the brush stutters, and the arcing that follows pits the contacts on both halves. Left alone, a part that costs very little takes the far more expensive mating half with it.
- Part number: 5176UL
- Job: locates the male contacts passing through the swivel neck
- Diagram position: 105 on the AUTOMATIC X4/X5 parts breakdown
- Fits: AUTOMATIC X1, X2, X4, X4 Boost and X5

Inspect the contacts themselves while the neck is apart. If they are blackened or visibly burnt back, the holder alone will not restore a reliable connection and the complete assembly is the sounder repair. Where the pins are merely dull, a clean-up and a new holder to hold them in register is usually all the joint needs. Typical searches that lead here are SEBO male contact holder, AUTOMATIC X swivel neck contact and X4 brush cuts out when handle moves.
