SEBO's parts diagram carries this cover at position 100, and 2831AM2 is the number for the G4 build of it. The shell is gray black and comes complete rather than as a bare moulding, ready to go onto a SEBO ESSENTIAL G4 — machine 90406AM in light gray and dark gray, or 90406BE in black.
Ordering against the model matters here, because the covers across this range look alike and differ only in a few mounting details. This one belongs to the ESSENTIAL G4. Getting the right shell means the head bolts up without persuasion and the brush chamber seals the way the factory intended; a cover forced onto the wrong frame will leave one boss unsupported and crack again from that point.
The reasons for buying one are nearly always mechanical damage rather than age — a machine that has gone over on a staircase, a fastener pulled clean through its boss, or a corner broken away where the head has met a doorframe. Once the shell stops clamping, the parts under it move: the roller sits fractionally out of line, the belt tracks off centre, and the head no longer meets the carpet flat. Fitting a sound cover reverses all of that in one job.
