SEBO Sensor Assembly with P...

Product details
SEBO tells these units apart by the colour of the ring, and the gray one is 5382, the later assembly for the AUTOMATIC X1. It is catalogued complete with its pulley and fixings rather than as a bare component.
The Sensor sits in the drive line between the motor and the brush roll, and it is how the machine knows what the roll is actually doing. Once it stops reporting accurately, the AUTOMATIC X1 acts on readings that are wrong, and what the owner sees is a warning indication or a break in normal running while the motor and the belts are in perfect health. That mismatch is what makes the fault awkward to identify from behaviour alone, since the components that look guilty are usually blameless.
Two checks before ordering. First, read the ring on the unit already installed, because the alternative assembly is stocked as 5383 and the two are not interchangeable. Second, look at the drive that turns this pulley. On the AUTOMATIC X1, 5379 is the toothed belt coming off the motor, 5110 takes the drive on to the bearing block, and 5117/1 covers the pulleys. Teeth that have rounded off will not treat a fresh pulley kindly, so renewing belt and Sensor together is the sensible course wherever the belt looks tired.
