SEBO Spring Lock for AIRBELT K and C Series Canisters

A coil supplying tension against a formed lock face — that is the whole of 6042WS, the spring lock SEBO fits to the AIRBELT K2 Kombi, K2 Turbo and K3 Premium and to the C1.1, C2.1 and C3.1 canisters. Working the latch loads the coil, releasing it lets the lock face drop back onto its mating component, and the arrangement resets itself every cycle without adjustment.

Its place on the exploded view says a good deal about what it holds. The AIRBELT K sheet opens with the bottom casing at item 1, the suction neck at item 2 and the seal between them, 6014, at item 3, with the spring lock following immediately at item 4. That puts it at the front of the machine where the hose enters, rather than anywhere near the filtration internals. Anybody who has the canister apart far enough to reach the seal has this catch in front of them at the same moment, which makes changing both during one strip-down sensible use of the work.

Springs relax as they age. When the tension has faded, or the lock face has rounded off at its working edge, whatever the catch holds down begins to creep while the machine runs and eventually releases at an unhelpful moment. The change is felt before it is seen. A catch that once shut with a definite snap starts shutting with a soft push, and because the decline is gradual most owners register it only after something has already come adrift.
