Product details
Steering an upright depends on the swivel neck, and the neck depends on a bearing at each side. SEBO 5101 is the right-hand bearing used across the AUTOMATIC X range. It is the part to order when the head feels notchy through a turn, creaks as it swings, or has developed play between the nozzle and the body of the machine.
Both bearings carry the whole weight of the upper machine every time it is steered, and they wear slowly and symmetrically. What an owner notices first is usually not the bearing at all but the behaviour: the head no longer follows the handle cleanly, it wants to sit at an angle, or there is a rocking movement at the joint that was not there before. SEBO gives the part position 108 on the AUTOMATIC X4/X5 diagram and position 104 on the AUTOMATIC X7/X8 diagram, so it can be confirmed against a workshop drawing before the machine is opened. The left-hand bearing is a separate number, SEBO 5717, and it is worth having both to hand once the neck is stripped down.

Fit bearings in pairs where you can. Replacing one side against a worn opposite number puts the joint back out of square and the new part simply takes the load the old one has stopped carrying. Searches that bring people to this listing include SEBO swivel neck bearing, Automatic X4 neck bearing right hand, X7 swivel joint play and genuine SEBO 5101.
