Grinding or rumbling from the right end of the roller is the classic sign that this small white block has given up. Part 5031WE carries the right-hand end of the brush roll inside the power head, holding the shaft square while the bristles work the carpet, and it is the widest-fitting version of the block in the range.
Once the bearing seat wears oval, the roller develops side play, drags on its belt, and the bristles start wearing down on one edge only. The uneven bristle line is often noticed before the noise is, because the machine simply stops finishing one side of its stroke. A fresh block puts the roller back on center and takes the extra load off the belt and drive. The left-hand block is a separate number and depends on the machine: 5766HG on the AUTOMATIC X1, AUTOMATIC X4 and AUTOMATIC X4 Boost, 5767HG on the AUTOMATIC X2 and AUTOMATIC X5.
Belt 5110 covers all five of these machines; 5463 is listed for the AUTOMATIC X4, X4 Boost and X5, and 5379 for the AUTOMATIC X1 and X2. Matching white trim runs to exhaust filter cover 5711WE, exhaust filter catch 5712WE and brush roller release 5713WE, with power head covers 5781SE on the AUTOMATIC X4, 50799WE on the AUTOMATIC X4 Boost and 5791SE on the AUTOMATIC X5. Consumables shared across the whole group include bag box 5093AM, exhaust filter 5143, microfilter 5036AM with HEPA 5812ER as the alternative, and service boxes 5827AM and 5828AM.
