Product details
Two matched rollers for the Bissell 1986-2 steamer and the carpet cleaners that share its foot, part 1611133, packaged with the belts needed to drive them. The machine takes both rollers together rather than one at a time, and doing so on your own end makes sense as well, since they log identical hours and tend to wear out at close to the same point.
Carpet cleaner rollers age differently from the dry kind found on a standard upright. Because these bristles run wet through nearly every cleaning pass, they lose their stiffness and go limp gradually instead of breaking off cleanly, so the machine starts sliding across a stain instead of digging into it, which reads very differently from a vacuum that has simply stopped picking up debris.
A roller that resists turning by hand, or that has picked up a tight wrap of hair at either end, is putting extra strain on the drive belt as well, and the belt is usually the next part to go once that happens. Checking both rollers for free spin before assuming the belt itself has failed can save a second repair.
Fits the 1964, 1986, 1986C, 2007 and 3586. After each cleaning session, stand the machine on end long enough for both rollers to dry completely, since a roller left damp inside the closed foot is what usually produces the musty smell owners end up blaming on the tank instead.
