This genuine OEM geared belt restores proper brush roll drive to the Bissell 1964, Bissell 1986, Bissell 1986C. Without a functioning belt, the brush roll cannot agitate carpet fibers, resulting in poor dirt pickup.
Geared belts provide consistent brush roll speed without the stretching that affects flat belts. While they last longer than standard belts, they should still be inspected periodically for cracks or worn teeth. If your brush roll has stopped spinning or cleaning performance has declined, a worn belt is the most common cause.
