Handle assembly for the Bissell ProHeat Revolution carpet cleaners, part 1609129. It fits the 1548, 1550 and 1551, the 1964, 1986 and 1986C, the 2007, and the 3579 and 3586. Colour may vary from the handle on your machine.
The handle takes all the force of pushing a heavy, water-filled machine into carpet, and it is where the trigger and its linkage live. Cracks generally start around the mounting point or the trigger housing, and once the handle flexes the trigger stops pulling cleanly, so you end up squeezing harder for less spray or the whole grip works loose in your hand.
Replacing the assembly rather than trying to bond a crack is the sensible route on a part under this much load. Unplug the machine and empty both tanks before you start.
