That higher rating is what separates it from the 175 watt motor, part 2973ER, so identify the head before ordering rather than treating the two as interchangeable — they share a diagram position but not a part number.

Fitment is short and precise. SEBO lists 2974ER for ET-2 power heads in both the switched and unswitched builds, and for the FELIX 2 Premium upright that carries an ET-2 head. On the power head parts diagram the motor sits at position 128 and is listed together with items 129 and 139, so what arrives is the drive assembly rather than a bare armature.

Replace it when the brush roll turns slowly or stops while suction stays strong, when dry bearings set up a squeal that rises with speed, or when a burnt smell follows the head down the hallway. A motor that has begun to drag will also chew through belts, so a machine on its second or third belt in quick succession is worth a closer look at the drive rather than another belt. Two cheaper faults mimic a dead motor and should be ruled out first: the carbon brush set 05141S, and the 200 W printed circuit board 2689ER. With the head open, the belt 2923, the motor pulley 2319, the 15 in brush roller 2838AM and the bearing blocks 2313GS and 2314GS are all within reach for inspection.
