The brush roll on a Carpet Pro commercial upright turns in plastic sleeve bushings at each end, and this is the replacement bushing, part B017-0214. It fits the CPU1QD, CPU3N, CPU3QD, CPU4N and CPU4T, the CMP3N, CMP3QD and CMP3T, the Maytag M700 and the Titan T4000.2 and TC6000.2.
Bushings are a consumable in a machine that runs daily. As the plastic wears oval the roller sits low at one end, and you hear it before you see it: a grinding or whirring from one side of the nozzle, a roller that wobbles instead of spinning true, and a belt that starts creeping off centre. Left alone, the worn bushing chews the end of the brush roll as well.
Change them in pairs while the roller is out, and turn the new assembly by hand to check it runs free.
