This collar, part CMQD-CO, is the ring that locks a hose end squarely into its port on the Fuller Brush FBP-14PWBP, and it also fits the Carpet Pro CMP3N, CMP3QD, CMP3T, CPU1QD, CPU3N and CPU3QD, the Titan T4000.2 and TC6000.2, and the Clean Max CMPSQD.
A collar like this holds the hose square in its socket so the joint stays airtight while the machine is pushed around the room. Plastic collars are the part most likely to give out at this joint, since they take repeated stress every time the hose is tugged or the machine changes direction. Once a collar splits, whatever hose end it was gripping no longer stays seated, so it works loose during use and leaks air at that joint the entire time it remains connected, often without an obvious sound or smell to point you toward it.
