Handle release pedal for the Carpet Pro CPU series, part 54.016. Step on it and the handle unlocks so the machine can be reclined to run under desks, beds and low furniture; let go and the handle locks upright again for storage.
The pedal takes a boot on it several times an hour, and it breaks at the pivot or shears the tab that engages the catch. When it goes, the handle either stays locked upright — so you cannot get under anything — or refuses to lock at all and falls back the moment you let go.
It fits the Carpet Pro CPU1 with a serial number before 9C004411, plus the CPU1T, CPU2, CPU2T, CPU1QD, CPU3N, CPU3QD, CPU4N and CPU4T, the Fuller Brush FBHD1, FBHD1T, FBMM1T, FBMMPW, FBMMPWCF4, FBPHD2 and FBPHD2T, and the Titan T4000 and T4000.2.
