Part B224-0314B is the household-duty motor cord, cut and terminated to a modified length. It is the internal lead that carries power from the switch to the motor.
A cord routed inside the body takes real abuse: it flexes every time the machine is moved, gets pulled where it passes through the housing, and works against the same bends on every job. Because the failure point is usually buried in the housing rather than at the plug, a machine that only cuts out when you move the handle is more often a tired cord than a bad switch or motor. Before ordering, unplug the machine and check the old lead for a nick, a scorch mark near a terminal, or insulation that has gone brittle and cracked.
