Point it at bookshelves, skirting tops, blinds, door frames, upholstery piping, keyboards and the ledges above cupboards. The standard opening is the more controllable of the two nylon brushes, which is what makes it the one to reach for around ornaments and along narrow ledges where a wider mouth catches on everything. Replace it once the bristles have splayed outward or worn short, because a flattened brush drags dust along instead of lifting it.

The large-opening version of the same tool is 1094GS, worth having where there are broad surfaces to cover quickly, and 1387GS carries natural horsehair for polished wood, glass and painted finishes.
