Part 5703DR is the red cord hook for AUTOMATIC X4 and X4 Boost uprights, the small catch high on the body that a coiled mains lead hangs from between jobs.
Movement is the early warning. A hook that has begun to work loose no longer holds the base of the wrap, so the cable slides free a turn at a time and finishes up trailing across the floor behind the vacuum. Renewing the moulding as soon as it feels slack keeps the lead off the ground and away from the wheels, which is where jackets get cut and crushed. Left long enough, the hook simply parts company with the machine and the coil lands in a heap.
