The G5 is the second machine in SEBO's ESSENTIAL G pair, offered here in light gray with dark gray trim. Like its stablemate it collects into a bag, it is built in Germany, and it is aimed at people who buy a vacuum expecting to keep it for a decade rather than swap it out every couple of seasons. This listing is part number 90407AM.
Two boxes of 5093AM come with the G5, which is sixteen bags with caps. A 15-inch head moves a lot of floor per pass and fills a bag accordingly, so starting with sixteen is more use here than on a narrower machine, and each capped collar seals the contents before the bag leaves the housing.

The clearest practical difference between the two G machines shows up in their parts lists. The G5 takes the 15-inch brush roller, listed as 2838AM with 2838GE as the soft-bristle version, where the other machine in the pair takes a 12-inch roller — so fewer passes across an open floor, and a machine that is correspondingly wider to steer between chair legs. Anyone weighing the two up should start there, then check the door of the closet it has to live in.
Everything else follows the ESSENTIAL pattern. Dust and grit end up sealed inside a bag rather than caked around the rim of a plastic bin, and the bag comes out whole. Bags are 5093AM in a box of eight, or 5093A3 and 5093A4 in cartons; filtration parts are the 5036AM microfilter, the 5425AM anti-odor microfilter and the 5812ER HEPA microfilter, with 2846 as the exhaust filter for this series. Keep 8366WS in the cupboard as well if there are long-haired occupants — clearing the roller before the load reaches the bearings is most of what maintenance amounts to on these machines.
