Product details
The left-hand applique is the trim panel on the left side of a Rainbow D3 housing, and R1729 is the replacement. It is purely a finish part - nothing about suction, filtration or the motor depends on it.
Appliques lift at a corner first, usually after years of being handled in the same spot, then catch on something and tear away. What is left behind is the bare panel with old adhesive residue on it, and that is what makes an otherwise well-kept machine look neglected.
Clean the panel back to a dry, dust-free surface before the new one goes on, and press along the whole edge rather than the middle. Corners that are not fully bedded down are where the next one will start lifting.
