Three complaints tend to arrive together on an ageing AIRBELT E: pick-up that keeps tailing off, a note from inside the body that has climbed over the years, and a machine that stops of its own accord before the room is finished. 8243ER is the component behind all three — the 120 V suction motor, printed at item 9 of the AIRBELT E drawing as a vac motor rated at 120 V. SEBO lists it for the AIRBELT E1 KOMBI, the AIRBELT E2 TURBO and the AIRBELT E3 Premium.
Brushes and bearings are consumables in any universal motor, and they surrender slowly rather than all at once. The machine takes longer to spin up from cold, gets louder than it was, pulls less at the end of the hose, and may run warm or give off a faint electrical smell after a long session. None of that is a fault in the body, the hose or the tools, which is the whole argument for a motor rather than a new machine.
What comes off with it
The motor sits in the middle of a small group on the drawing, and knowing the neighbours saves ordering twice. Item 8 is the motor mount gasket, 8212ER, which seals the motor into the housing and is listed for the same three canisters — renew it while access is easy, because it is the one part certain to have taken a set. Item 11 is the motor support and item 13 the motor cover, while item 12 is the noise limiting cover, 8220ER, again for the same three machines. None of those four is the motor, and all four get ordered by mistake by somebody scanning a parts list for the word.
